Keep Somers Beautiful (KSB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting litter prevention and cleanup of the town of Somers, New York.
The group needed their first website that would both educate the public about local and general environmental issues, as well as informing about opportunities to contribute.
The site needs to serve multiple functions: to be educational, and to move visitors to take action and participate.
The site also has to serve multiple audiences: the general public (individuals, families, students) and the local business community.
The home page immediately informs the visitor what to expect: a site dedicated to the cleanup of Somers, NY. The home page establishes legitimacy and trust by announcing the group's successes and demonstrating social proof with the community involvement. has been, demonstrating the worthiness of the group.
A button choice allows the visitor to identify themselves as either an individual or a business owner, which leads to content targeted to the appropriate segment.
Each page on the site offers an opportunity to download valuable information so the group can build its e-mail list while building trust with the visitor.
